My kid's school art show made me pick a side on AI, and I picked the wrong one
Last month I had to choose between letting my daughter enter a prompt-generated piece in her 5th grade art show or making her redraw it by hand, and I told her to redraw it. She cried for an hour, then drew a tree that looked like a potato, and honestly the AI version was better. So where's the line, does the kid learn more from the potato or from the pretty picture?
