Hot take: I stopped writing my weekly status reports myself 6 months ago and my boss likes them more now
I used to spend about 90 minutes every Friday afternoon putting together my status update for the team, pulling numbers from three different tabs and typing it all out. Back in March I started feeding my notes into a free AI tool and having it draft the whole thing in about 4 minutes. My manager actually told me in July that my reports got clearer, which stung a little. Now I mostly just edit what it spits out and add the stuff only I would know. Is this happening to other people with regular writing tasks at work, and do you tell your boss about the tool or just keep it quiet?
