PSA: The AI phone screen at my old company rejected me in 90 seconds and I knew the answers
Last Tuesday I applied for a warehouse lead job in Columbus and got an email back in 10 minutes saying a virtual interview was ready. The AI asked 6 questions, I answered all of them fine, and got a rejection 90 seconds later. I called the recruiter and she admitted the system auto rejects anyone whose answers score under a 70 on their speech pattern model. My answers were good but I have a slight stutter, so the model tagged me as unsure. I filed a complaint with the state and they are now reviewing the tool. Has anyone else seen an AI filter kill a real candidate over how they talk instead of what they know?
