Remember when air fryers first hit the market 5 years ago?

I dug out my old air fryer cookbook from 2019 last week and laughed at how many recipes just called for frozen fries. Now I'm making salmon and roasted veggies in mine three times a week, who else has seen their air fryer cooking change that much?

Man I was the exact same way, first year with mine it was basically just a fry and frozen chicken tender machine lmao. Then I got brave one night and threw a pork chop in there with just salt and pepper and it came out way better than I expected. Now I'm doing whole chicken thighs, brussels sprouts, even little cinnamon rolls for breakfast sometimes. My buddy still only uses his for mozzarella sticks and I keep telling him he's missing out big time.

That cinnamon rolls thing is actually something most people don't think about. You can do biscuits and even those little Pillsbury croissants in there too, they get this weirdly perfect flaky texture. What gets me though, @gibson.morgan, is how nobody talks about using these for dehydrating stuff. I threw some sliced apples in mine on the lowest setting for like 4 hours and got chewy dried apple rings that were way better than store bought. It's not just about heating things up fast, it's literally a mini convection oven and dehydrator all in one. People who only use them for frozen snacks are basically paying hundreds of dollars for a toaster oven they don't understand.
