Why does nobody talk about how fake torque wrenches can mess up your whole day?

I picked up a cheap $40 torque wrench from a supply house in Miami last month because mine got lost. It felt fine at first but after snapping two bolts on a Cessna wing, I checked it against a Snap-On and it was off by 15 lbs. Has anyone else here had to eat the cost of a repair because of a bad tool?

That $40 Miami special sounds exactly like the junk I saw tested on a YouTube channel where they went through five cheap torque wrenches and only one was within spec, the rest were off by 10-20 lbs. A bad calibration is basically a gamble with your work and your wallet.
