A 62 year old installer in Mesa told me to quit chasing the cheapest panel and I have not been able to shake it
He has been doing this since 1989 and has a wall of old cans in his garage. I asked him what his go to was and he just said the panel is the cheapest part of the job and the cheapest thing to replace. He said he has torn out more $99 panels than he can count and the callbacks are what kill you. I have been running cheap gear for a while now to win bids and it got in my head. He is not wrong.
Do you all go budget on the panel to win the bid or do you stay firm and lose the job?
