Talked to a retired inspector about my new build, now I'm second guessing everything
He spent 20 minutes pointing out that my 2 year old place in Airdrie has no proper venting in the attic and said the builder probably skipped it to save 300 bucks, so has anyone actually gotten a second opinion on their new build or am I overthinking this?

Have been there with my own place, paid 150 for an independent inspector and found the exact same attic issue plus a few others the builder never mentioned. The venting thing is real, it can trap moisture and rot your roof over time, so it's worth getting a second opinion before the drywall goes up. Call a local home inspector who doesn't do new build walkthroughs for builders, they'll give you a straight answer without sugarcoating it.
