That 140x zoom clip everyone swears is CGI? Weak argument
I keep seeing that handheld phone video with 140x zoom over Area 51 get torn apart as fake because of the heat shimmer. But I actually tried a similar phone with a telescopic lens back in March near Rachel, Nevada, and my footage showed the same wavy distortion over empty desert. People point to the moment the object blinks sideways and call it a render artifact, but my own video did that too because the phone's stabilization was fighting the tripod shake. I changed my mind because one commenter broke down the focal length math and showed the wobble matches a physical zoom lens at extreme range. Since then I stopped trusting the popular optic says fake crowd and started checking lens specs first. Anyone else here actually filmed with consumer zoom tech before calling something CGI?
