Unpopular opinion: Getting into night sky apps killed all the alien buzz for me.
Now every 'UFO' my friends point out is just a satellite or a star... and it's kinda boring.

Knowing what's up there kills the fun for you? That's crazy. I get way more into it when I can name the satellites and planets. It turns the whole sky into a map you can read.

You said the first time is for the shock and the rest are for the craft. But what if the "craft" is just a bunch of obvious tricks you didn't notice before? Doesn't that make the whole thing feel cheap on a second look? I've had stuff go from my favorite thing to something I can't even watch again.

Totally killed the mystery for me too.

But HARD disagree, knowing how it all works just makes it better on a rewatch. The mystery is fun once, but seeing all the pieces fit together when you know the answers? That's the REAL reward. It turns a cool surprise into something you can actually study and appreciate. The first time is for the shock, every other time is for the craft. If something falls apart once you know the secret, it was never that strong to begin with.
