Why does nobody talk about the 1997 Phoenix Lights being seen by 10,000 people?
I was reading a declassified report at my kitchen table in Tucson last week and it said the March 13, 1997 lights stretched across 300 miles of Arizona sky and thousands of people flooded emergency lines within an hour. That makes me wonder if mass sightings are proof of something real or just a case of crowds scaring each other into seeing the same thing. So which is it for you: does a big crowd make a UFO story more believable, or less?
The "10,000 people" part is what gets me. I read that a lot of those calls came in before the news even reported it, so people weren't just copying each other. But honestly a huge crowd can go either way, more eyes means more folks misreading flares too.
