One critic said my pacing was trash, now I skip 2 episode arcs entirely
I used to defend every slow burn show like it was my job. Then a commenter on episode 5 of a 24 episode series said my favorite anime had filler pacing and no payoff. I got mad, rewatched with that in mind, and they were right about the middle 8 episodes dragging. Now I drop any show that doesn't hook me by episode 3, no exceptions. That cut my dropped series count from 12 last year to 3 this year, but I also missed a hidden gem that got good at episode 7. Anyone else find a hard rule like that helps or does it make you miss the good stuff?
