Last Tuesday was a nightmare, three callbacks in one day
Honestly, I had a day last week that made me question everything. I fixed a dishwasher on Monday, a fridge ice maker on Tuesday morning, and a dryer drum squeal that afternoon. By Wednesday, all three customers called back with the same or new issues, and I had to drive 45 miles round trip through downtown Columbus to redo each one. The kicker was the dryer, I used a generic belt instead of the OEM one and it snapped within 24 hours. Has anyone else had a week where everything you touched turned into a callback, or am I just cursed with bad luck lately?
The generic belt snapping in 24 hours? That’s brutal, man. I’ve been there with cheap parts, but that’s a whole new level of bad luck. Also, three callbacks in one day means you basically worked for free twice over, after gas and time. I’d be staring at my toolbox wondering if I even knew how to do this job anymore.
Three callbacks in one day is how I know I'm not just bad at my job, I'm also a professional at wasting my own gas money. At this rate, I'm gonna start charging customers by the hour for my therapy sessions in the parking lot. Honestly, my toolbox should just have a "for decoration only" sticker on it at this point.
