Bought a $90 dirt sieve for field screening, wish I'd done it sooner
I was using a $8 mesh pan from a hardware store and it fell apart after two weekends. The proper archaeology-grade one weighs less and sifts way faster, so I'm covering 3x the ground in the same field time. Anyone else tried upgrading gear on a tight budget?

Ugh, tell me about it. I burned through two cheap pans before I finally caved and got a proper one, and the time saved alone made it worth every penny.
