Hit 1,000 stacked deep-sky shots on a single target without realizing it
I've been imaging the Orion Nebula off and on for about 3 months from my back patio in Phoenix. Between moonlight, clouds, and work I figured I had maybe 600 frames total. Went to organize my folder today and the counter said 1,003 lights. That number surprised me because I never keep a tally while shooting, I just set the interval and go inside to prep dinner or do dishes.
It hit me that persistence adds up even when each session feels short. Those 2 to 3 minute subs were nothing alone, but stacked together the data actually shows detail in the dust lanes I couldn't see in single frames. Made me wonder if anyone else has accidentally crossed a milestone like this and only noticed later? What target finally clicked for you once you looked at your total integration time?
