That guy at the star party who said my Orion Nebula shot was 'just a purple blob' still bugs me
Last month at the Riverside Astronomical Society star party near Temecula, some guy looked over my shoulder at my laptop and said my 20-minute stacked shot of the Orion Nebula was 'just a purple blob.' I had 48 subframes at 60 seconds each with a modified DSLR and a cheap 135mm lens, and I was honestly proud of it. He then pulled out his phone to show me a Hubble image and said 'now that's what it should look like.' I just packed up my gear and left early, but it's been stuck in my head for weeks. Does anyone else deal with guys like this at star parties, or is it just my bad luck?
