PSA: Don't buy those $60 'laser alignment' kits for DIY work
I blew $60 on one of those laser wheel alignment kits off Amazon and it was off by like 2 degrees compared to what the shop down in Fresno measured, wasted a whole Saturday chasing my own bad setup. Has anyone else had these things be totally useless, or did I just get a dud?
Man, that reminds me of my buddy Rob who tried one of those on his Tacoma and ended up with the steering wheel cocked to the left like he was trying to park in a hurricane. He spent two days fiddling with it, then paid $80 for a real alignment and the tech showed him the laser was sitting crooked in the mount from the factory. He threw the thing in the trash right there in the parking lot, which honestly felt like the right call.
