Spent $600 on a Snap-on scanner, honestly wish I'd bought the $150 one

Been doing this 18 years and always told myself the expensive tools pay for themselves. Bought the full Snap-on scan tool back in March after my old Innova finally died. Six hundred bucks gone. The interface is clunky, the updates cost extra, and honestly the $150 Innova I replaced did 90 percent of the same jobs. Abs codes, live data, even the bidirectional stuff on most domestic cars. The Snap-on does have better coverage on the weird European models, but how often do those roll in? I'm a general repair shop in Dayton, not a Porsche dealer. I'm starting to think the whole premium tool thing is a racket for the younger guys trying to look professional. Anyone else drop big money on a name brand and regret it, or am I missing something the cheap ones can't do? What's your breaking point on tool prices?
