That water pump bolt fight took a full Saturday

Replaced a water pump on a 2012 Chevy Cruze last week and the lower bolt just wouldnt budge. Spent 6 hours on it with every trick I knew, finally had to cut it out with a torch. Has anyone else had luck with those bolt extractor sockets or is it just me?
