DAE know that a single static zap can fry a $15k LRU? Found it in an old ATA chapter

Was reading through ATA 20-40 last night and saw that even 200 volts of static can trash a line replaceable unit worth more than my truck. We all wear the wrist strap but I never knew the actual number. Anyone here ever see a component actually die from ESD, or is it mostly a boogeyman?
