Switched from the old pin crimper to a ratcheting one, and my hands are thanking me
For 12 years I used the same basic pin crimper on every cannon plug in our hangar at Van Nuys, and I figured the ratcheting kind was just hype for guys with weak grips. Then I borrowed a buddy's ratcheting tool on a 60 pin connector job on a King Air and I didn't get a single loose pin pull test, not one. Turns out the ratchet makes it click through the full crimp cycle so you can't under squeeze it, and my forearms weren't sore after the job either. Now the old one is sitting in my bottom drawer as a backup. Anybody else hold out on a tool for years and then feel silly once they finally tried it?
