The same 12 mile loop felt completely different after the fire
I hiked the Eagle Creek loop in Oregon every spring for about 6 years, then this year I went back after the 2017 fire scar really started to fill in with new growth. The trail distance and elevation gain were exactly the same, but the whole feel changed from closed-in forest to wide open views with fireweed and young pines everywhere. Has anyone else re-walked a familiar route after a big disturbance and had it feel like a brand new trail?
