Last Saturday the rain almost ruined my paver patio pour

We had 4 yards of concrete on the truck and the forecast flipped to thunderstorms 30 minutes out, so my neighbor and I raced to get the forms done and tarped the slab mid-pour. The rain hit at 2pm and somehow the surface leveled out perfect, no pitting at all. Has anyone else had a weather panic turn into a lucky break or did we just dodge a bullet by luck?
