My neighbor Ray asked why I was building a 12 foot gate when a 4 foot one would do, and he had a point
I spent last Saturday framing a 12 foot double gate for my side yard so I could back the trailer in without scraping the fence. Ray walked over, looked at it for a minute, and asked who I was building it for, me or the trailer. I said the trailer, and he said the trailer only comes through here maybe six times a year while the gate is there every single day. Stood there kind of annoyed for a bit, then cut my posts down and went with 8 feet, which still clears the fenders fine. Anyone else ever overbuild something just because they could, and did you regret backing it down?
