TIL my mom was right about the dishwasher and I owe her an apology after 5 months of dishes piling up
My roommate and I kept fighting about whose turn it was to run the dishwasher, and my mom kept saying just rinse everything before it goes in even if it looks clean. I blew her off for 5 months because I figured our machine was decent and the rinse cycle would handle it. Then the bottom rack started smelling like a wet dog and a repair guy in Portland charged us $85 to tell us food bits were clogging the filter. Now we rinse every single plate and the whole thing takes 10 seconds.
