Pro tip: that $60 silicone baking mat set was a bad call for bread
I dropped $60 on a fancy silicone mat set last month thinking it would save my sourdough routine, but the loaves stuck worse than my old floured parchment paper and the mats warped in my 475 degree oven. I figured the nonstick coating would be amazing after seeing all those ads, but now I'm back to using a cheap $8 metal scraper and parchment, which honestly works better every time. Has anyone else had silicone mats fail at high temps, or did I just get a bad batch?
