Took me two wrecked blade sets to actually listen, because the spray just pushes hair into the hinge and gums it up, so now I brush first and my blades last months longer, but I'm curious if anyone runs a different order on their cleaning routine.
Man, this takes me back to my barber buddy in college who never cleaned anything and wondered why his clippers smelled like a burnt sock. Dude would just spray and go, and the hair and oil turned into this brown paste inside the blade. One day the thing got so hot it actually stopped mid cut on a guy's fade, which was about the worst timing possible. He finally took it apart and there was basically a felt carpet in there. I started brushing dry first after seeing that mess, and yeah, the blades stay sharp way longer. It's one of those things where the hard way teaches you best.
