Started doing hot towel fades on a $12 Conair steamer and my clients stopped asking for skin fades
I grabbed a cheap Conair steamer at Target in Boise two weeks back just to soften beards before edging, but I started running it over the fade zones for 30 seconds before the clippers hit. The hair lays down flatter and I'm getting closer lines on the first pass, so nobody has asked me for a skin fade since. Is there a downside to steaming before cutting that I'm missing, like it messing with the hair's natural lift on longer tops?
