Stop thinning hair with the scissors open

I see guys in my shop opening their thinners fully and hacking at dry hair, making frizz instead of texture. Close those teeth to about half and work on damp sections, you get smoother blending with less damage. Anyone else switch to this and see better results?

Hell yeah, saw a barber on YouTube say the same thing about dry hair being the real enemy.
