Finally got past 500 followers on my art account after being stuck at 480 for 3 months

Last night I posted a timelapse of me fixing a drawing where the hand was totally out of proportion and it blew up with 2,000 views, so I guess showing the messy process works better than the polished final piece, has anyone else noticed that ugly behind-the-scenes stuff gets more traction?

Blew up with 2,000 views" - man, that's not blowing up, that's a whole different dimension from where I'm sitting. I was stuck at 300 followers for like six months and my best post ever got 150 views. Then I posted a stupid meme about forgetting to save my layers and it got 5,000 views overnight. Makes zero sense to me but hey, I'll take it.

Had a friend who did art for years and her cleanest, most polished pieces got crickets every time. Then she messed up a gradient on a sky and left a comment like "well this is a disaster" and suddenly people were asking for tutorials. She ended up making a whole series called "fixing my junk" and it's her most popular stuff by miles. Something about seeing the struggle makes people feel less alone in their own messy process, I guess.
