Serious question, did anyone else hear the Meta rep at that Columbus meetup say reels under 8 seconds get buried now?

A friend who runs a bakery page here in Columbus went to that small biz social media meetup last Thursday and said a Meta rep on the panel basically said short clips get pushed less because they don't hold watch time. She said he told the room to aim for the 15 to 30 second range or expect the reach to stall out. I've been posting 6 second clips for months wondering why they flatline at 900 views. Has anyone tested longer cuts and seen a real jump, or was this guy just talking?
