Showerthought: I tried that 'post at 6am' trick for 2 weeks and my views actually doubled
I kept seeing people in here say to post early in the morning and I blew it off for months because it sounded like made up guru stuff. Two weeks ago I got sick of my reels sitting at like 200 views so I figured I had nothing to lose. I moved my posting time from around 9pm to 6:15am before work, same type of content, same hashtags, nothing else changed. My last 8 posts averaged 480 views compared to maybe 210 before, and one hit 3,100 which has never happened to me. I think the real reason is my niche is people who scroll on their commute, so the timing just puts me in front of more of them. I am not saying it works for everyone since some of you post for night owls, but I was wrong to write it off. Has anyone else tested a specific time slot and seen a jump like this, or did it fizzle out after a couple weeks?
Curious how consistent your 6am crowd actually is, like did the jump hold steady across all 8 posts or did a couple of them carry the average (the 3,100 one especially)? Track whether those same early scrollers show up in your comments or saves or if it's mostly drive by views that never come back. Two weeks is short enough that a single viral hit can fake a trend, so I'd keep logging the next few weeks before you call it. What does your save and share count look like compared to before, not just views?
