The night a guy at a Phoenix sci-fi meetup convinced me we're living in a simulation, and now I can't unsee it
So I went to this small sci-fi meetup in Phoenix about a month ago, mostly for the free pizza, and this retired physics teacher starts telling me how he thinks we're in a simulation. At first I laughed, but then he pulled out a notebook with 47 pages of notes on how light behaves like it's rendering only when we look at it. He said the double slit experiment is basically the game engine loading textures when you turn the camera. I sat there for 2 hours and by the end I was half convinced I'm an NPC. Now every time I drop something and it lands weird I think about it. Does anyone else have a moment like this where a random stranger messed with your whole view of reality?
