My old anvil face vs the new hardened one, 20 hours of work later
Last month I finally swapped out the beat up anvil I got from my grandpa's barn for a new hardened face from the shop in Dayton. I figured a fresh face would just be cleaner, but man, the difference in rebound is crazy. The old one would eat maybe 15 percent of my hammer energy, now it's like the steel bounces back at me twice as fast. Has anyone else made that switch and had to relearn their hammer timing, or is it just me?
