My dad told me the N64 controller was always a mess and now we argue about it at every dinner
My dad and I got into it last Sunday about the three-pronged N64 controller, and he said 'no game should make you buy an extra thing just to use a joystick' while I brought up how Mario 64 still controls great doing it. He grew up on the Atari 2600 joystick and SNES pad and insists the N64 pad was a fix for a problem that did not exist. Was the N64 controller a real design win or does my dad have a point that we excuse it only because the games were so good?
