Picked Splendor over Catan at my FLGS in Tempe and my game night crew still brings it up
Two Saturdays ago my group of 5 sat down at the shop in Tempe and I had $40 on me, so it was either Splendor or Catan. I went with Splendor since it plays in 30 minutes and two of the guys get grumpy when a game runs past 90. It went over so well we played it 4 times back to back, and now one guy keeps texting the group chat asking when we're doing it again. My buddy Dave still says I dodged Catan because I always lose at it, which is honestly fair. What's your go to when you need a short game for a mixed group?
