The 19th hole at Saddlebrook changed my mind about gimmicks
I used to think bonus holes were just a way to squeeze more money out of you. Then I played the island green par 3 they added at Saddlebrook in Tampa last month. It's only 118 yards but the wind off the lake makes it brutal. I actually birdied it after three tries and now I get why people stick around for the sudden death rounds. Has anyone else had a bonus hole that felt worth the extra time?

It's funny how one good experience flips your whole view on something. Same thing happened to me with those airport lounge credit cards, I thought they were a total scam until I got stuck on a 6 hour delay and the free food and showers actually saved my trip. Now I look at every "extra" thing through that lens, like maybe it's not all just a cash grab, sometimes it's just a few people actually getting it right. Your birdie sounds way more satisfying than anything I got out of a lounge though, wind off a lake makes you earn it.
