Tried a glow ball on the bonus hole at dusk and lost it in plain sight

Our club in Tulsa has a bonus hole tucked behind the 14th green, and last Friday I tried a glow ball for a twilight tiebreaker. The ball lit up fine off the tee, but it landed in the rough and the glow made it blend right into a patch of fireflies, so we spent 10 minutes looking before a kid found it. Has anyone else had a glow ball backfire like that on a bonus hole?
