Pissed I wasted a year using PVA glue on leather hinges
Used to think PVA was fine for attaching leather hinges to my journal spines. Then six months ago I tried actual leather glue on a commission and those hinges are still holding up perfectly while the old ones are peeling off after a few months. Anyone else stubbornly stick with the wrong adhesive way too long?

Ngl, PVA glue works fine if you prep the surfaces right and don't expect it to flex like rubber. Tbh, most people skip sanding the leather or clamping it long enough and then blame the glue. A year is nothin', some folks waste way more time before they switch.

Fair enough @baker.holly, but I've seen PVA fail on oily leather even with perfect prep.
