My peace lily drooped for 3 weeks, then I checked the drain tray
I water my peace lily every 5 days on the dot, but the leaves kept sagging no matter what I did. Turned out the drain tray had 2 inches of standing water rotting the roots since I put it in a new ceramic pot last month. Anyone else dealt with hidden root rot from a tray they forgot to empty?
That's brutal. I once killed a spider plant so thoroughly that I found out later it had been sitting in an inch of water for two months because I thought the white spots on the leaves were just "aesthetic." The roots were basically soup. Trimming them feels less like gardening and more like doing surgery on a drowned rat, which is probably why I put it off until the whole thing was mush.
