Back in 2019 I started grabbing one of those cheap claw machine ducks every time I lost at the county fair in Amarillo, and last week I counted 47 of them stacked on a shelf next to a busted air fryer I paid $89 for. What got me was adding up the quarters: $312 in claw machine tries for maybe $15 worth of plastic. Anyone else keep feeding a machine just because quitting felt like losing?
