I finally looked up what a mortar joint actually costs per square foot and the number caught me off guard
Was flipping through a masonry supply catalog in the truck before a job in Akron and saw a breakdown saying mortar and sand run about 15 to 20 cents per square foot of wall, which felt way lower than I would have guessed. It made me rethink how I quote small repair jobs where I usually just toss in a bag of mix and call it good. Do you all figure mortar into your square foot price or just lump it into the labor?
