Paid $6 for a hostel locker in Lisbon and my train ticket was still in my jacket pocket

I was running for the 7am train to Porto when I realized my ticket was locked in the hostel locker (and the front desk didn't open until 8). I ended up buying a new ticket at the counter for $18, but now I always take a photo of my ticket before locking anything up. Anyone else got a cheap backup trick for when your plans fall apart?
