My grocery store's unit price tags are wrong on the big bags, and I did the math
I've been buying the 5 lb bag of store brand rice at my Kroger in Dayton for months thinking it was cheaper than the 2 lb one, and last week I actually pulled out my phone and did the math on the shelf tag. The 5 lb bag says 89 cents per pound but the 2 lb bag says 74 cents per pound, which makes no sense, so I weighed both at home and the 5 lb bag was only 4.3 lbs. That works out to over a dollar a pound, so the 2 lb bag really is the better buy. Has anyone else caught their store's scale or unit price being off like this?
