Serious question, my $8 planner app vs a $1 notebook from Dollar Tree, which actually saves more money?
I used a budgeting app for 8 months and paid $8 a month for it, so about $64 total. Last month I switched to a plain notebook from Dollar Tree and a pen I already had, and my spending went DOWN $140 that first month because writing it out by hand made me slow down and think. But my friend says the app is better because it sends alerts and I will probably get lazy with the notebook by month three. So now I am stuck arguing with myself: is the $64 a year worth the reminders, or was the notebook the real win? Has anyone here gone back to paper after using an app, and did it stick?
