I sat in his chair last Saturday and we got to talking while he cut, and he mentioned I was the only person all week who asked how his son's college search was going. He said most folks just want the trim and get out, which got me thinking about how I treat the people I see every 6 weeks versus the friends I actually let in. My buddy Daryl and I have been drifting for like 2 years now, mostly because he only texts when he needs my truck or a favor, and I kept making excuses for him. After that haircut I finally stopped answering, and honestly the quiet has been nice. It is weird how a stranger with scissors can point out something your own friends miss. Has anyone else cut someone off over a one sided thing like that, or did you try talking first?
