Read a 3-word text from my dad and blocked him at 41
Last Tuesday my dad sent me a text that just said "we need to talk." That was it. After 41 years of him ghosting every birthday, missing my college graduation, and once forgetting my name at a family BBQ in Phoenix, those 3 words flipped a switch in me. I didn't even reply. Just blocked the number and felt lighter than I have in a decade. My therapist said that's called a boundary, I call it reading between the lines. Has anyone else had that moment where a tiny message finally made you snap?
