Went from best man to blocked in 4 weeks flat
My buddy from high school, Danny, got engaged and I was pumped to be his best man. Then I found out he'd been telling people I was 'bad with money' after I turned down his $2,000 Vegas bachelor party plan. Called him out on it once, polite but direct, and he texted back 'you're not the guy I thought you were.' Blocked me everywhere that same night. We were tight for 12 years, since freshman year at East High, and now I'm just another name in his phone. Anyone else lose a long friendship over someone's ego?

Gotta be real though, turning down a $2k Vegas trip probably stung for him, but calling you out publicly was a dick move on your part too. He might've just wanted one big blowout before tying the knot and took your money excuse personal. 12 years is a long time to torch over one argument, but maybe he was already looking for a reason to cut loose.
