Knee broke halfway through a 200 pound breakdown yesterday
I was breaking down a forequarter at the shop around 3pm and my right knee gave out on a saw cut, nearly dropped the whole side on the concrete. I managed to set it down slow and finished the job sitting on a milk crate with the blade at a weird angle. Anyone else work through joint pain on heavy cuts, or do you just call it and let the case sit?
Man, that milk crate hack is some next level dedication. Your knee said "nah" and you still found a way to mess up your back instead. Respect.
Honestly, it depends on how bad the joint is feeling. If it's a dull ache, I push through and regret it later. If it pops or gives out like yours, that's my cue to grab a beer and stare at the case until someone else deals with it.
But hey, at least you didn't drop 200 pounds of beef on your toes. That would've been a much worse story to tell. Though now you're probably gonna feel that knee tomorrow when you try to walk to the coffee machine. Worth it for the extra hour of work though, right?
