My 15 year old $3 soup ladle just outlived my wedding china
I was packing up my kitchen for a move last weekend and noticed something weird. That cheap stainless steel ladle I bought at a restaurant supply store for $3 is still perfect. No rust, no bent handle. But my fancy wedding china set from Macy's has chips on half the plates after 10 years. Found out restaurant supply gear is made for constant abuse. 10x a day scrubbing, boiling liquids, dropped on tile floors. It's not pretty but it just works. Has anyone else noticed their cheapest kitchen tools are the ones that last forever?

Wedding china is usually pretty fragile and not meant for everyday use though, so it's kind of comparing apples to oranges. That ladle was built for the real world from the start.
