Picked a $12 carbon steel pan over a $45 nonstick at a yard sale in Omaha, 3 years in and it is still my daily
I stood in that driveway for 10 minutes going back and forth, and the seller finally said the nonstick was his wife's favorite, which made me grab the heavy black one instead. The nonstick coating on my old pan started flaking after about 14 months, but this carbon steel just keeps getting smoother every time I fry eggs in it. What is the one cheap thing you picked up that outlasted the fancy version?
